My Great-Great Grandmother...

My mom mentioned a story about my Great-Great Grandma Lola a few weeks ago that really has stuck with me... My family has a history of young loves lasting through time. Sweet and heart warming stories that belong in a book next to 'The Notebook'. But I never heard Grandmother Lola... She lived an independent lifestyle for her time, leaving her first child with her mom and traveling, living with men, leading a lifestyle completely taboo for her time. Something about it fascinates me. Maybe because I never heard about her, maybe because I've wondered where my subtle instinctual desire to be independent came from. These images obviously aren't her but if my only connection is the perfume I wear named "Lola", at least I have some way to carry on her name.
